Therapy FAQ’s

Got questions? We’ve got answers! Here are some of the things parents often ask before starting therapy.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Paediatric physiotherapy helps kids move, play, and participate in life with confidence. We support babies, toddlers, and children of all abilities with movement, strength, coordination, and mobility—always in a way that’s fun, engaging, and tailored to their needs. It’s therapy, but it feels like play!

  • Nope! You don’t need a referral to see us. You can book in anytime. If your child has NDIS funding, a Medicare plan, or private health insurance, a referral from your GP or specialist might be helpful, but it’s not required.

  • We see little ones from birth all the way through to young adulthood. Whether your baby was born early, your toddler is finding movement tricky, or your child or teen needs extra support, we’re here to help.

  • Just your child, comfy clothes, and anything they might need to feel at ease! If you have any reports, referrals, or equipment your child already uses (like orthotics or walkers), feel free to bring those along. Most importantly, bring a sense of curiosity—we’ll take it from there!

  • Most sessions run for 45–60 minutes, depending on your child’s needs and goals. Intensive blocks and hydrotherapy sessions might be a little different, but we’ll chat through all the details before you start.

  • Your first session is all about getting to know your child, their strengths, and what they love! We’ll chat about your goals, do some movement-based assessments (which often look like play!), and come up with a plan that works best for your child and goals.

  • Yes! We have a warm-water hydrotherapy pool where we use movement in water to help kids build strength, coordination, and confidence. It’s one of our favourite ways to make therapy fun and effective!

  • Of course! You’re welcome to be as involved as you’d like. Some kids feel more comfortable with a parent nearby, while others get fully into their session on their own. You can chat with your therapist about what works best for your child. And if you need a moment to recharge, our Hoot & Brew espresso bar is here for you!

  • Yes! We’re experienced in working with NDIS participants and are happy to support families navigating the system. If you’re unsure how funding works for physiotherapy, we can help you understand your options.

  • That’s totally okay! If you’ve got a feeling something’s a little off, or if you just want to check in, we’re happy to chat—no pressure, no obligation. Early support can make a big difference, and we’re here to help you figure out what’s best for your child.
